Prandelli spies on Samp -
July-30-10
Italy boss Cesare Prandelli is spying on Sampdoria with a view to calling up a number of their players, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport.
Prandelli is in the process of drawing up his first international squad following his appointment earlier this month.
His first match in charge comes against the Ivory Coast at Upton Park on August 10.
Prandelli sent his goalkeeping coach Vincenzo Di Palma to monitor Antonio Mirante earlier this week.
He has now been dispatched his confidante to Samp's training camp to write a report on their pre-season.
Sampdoria Coach Mimmo Di Carlo is aware that the spotlight is on his side.
“We are working to get as many players as possible to realise important objectives, the national team included,” he said.
“If a block of Sampdoria players were to become as such for Italy, it would be a signal that Samp are behaving very well.”
