Albinoleffe 0-3 Livorno
Livorno got back on track after their opening drubbing by inflicting a similar result on Albinoleffe. The home side was caught napping on 22 minutes when Tavano was allowed to tap in undisturbed. After the break Surraco and Dionisi completed the rout with goals 120 seconds apart. Dionisi set up the first and converted the second opportunity himself with an angled drive.

Ascoli 1-1 Modena
The spoils were shared at the end of a relatively balanced encounter. Bonvissuto should’ve opened the scoring after three minutes, but somehow nodded wide at the back post. The Modena defence had to reshuffle when losing Gozzi to injury and during this period of uncertainty Giorgi smashed a half-volley in from a poor clearance. The Canarini struggled to create chances, but still managed to equalise with Pasquato’s slightly deflected free kick. Cani was very unlucky to see his effort come off the inside of the post and back out into the grateful arms of Guarna.

Cittadella 2-1 Torino
Both teams lost their season openers, but Torino's campaign goes from bad to worse. They had taken the lead after 19 minutes with Iunco bundling a corner kick over the line, but by half-time the game had been turned around completely. First Nocentini rose to nod in Dalla Bona's corner kick, then the former Chelsea player scored himself with a fierce free kick four minutes later. Toro poured forward, but Stevanovic wasted a good chance and Garofalo's free kick was denied by the upright.

Crotone 1-1 Padova
Padova struck right at the death to earn a point away to Crotone. Renzetti hauled down Cutolo for a penalty, which Ginestra coolly converted to put the home side in front. Cutolo tested the goalkeeper, but towards the end Padova piled on the pressure and it paid off when Rabito was sent clear by Legati’s inspired assist.

Novara 2-0 Triestina
Novara celebrated their first victory in Serie B after 33 years. Colombo managed to keep the scoreline down by keeping out Bertani on several occasions, but he made the difference eventually. First Bertani set up Gonzalez for the opener, then scored the second with a missile from the edge of the area.

Piacenza 1-1 Frosinone
All the action seemed to be packed into the opening 10 minutes. Cacia took around 200 seconds to break the deadlock with his splendid left-foot volley from seven yards. Moments later Santoruvo threatened an equaliser, which did come with Lodi bundling a deflected ball over the line. Santoruvo, Lodi and Guidi went close, but there were no more goals.

Sassuolo 1-1 Grosseto
Sassuolo had to fight back in order to grab a point from this battle of potential play-off contenders. Donazzan brought down Alessandro for a penalty on the stroke of half-time, which was converted by Caridi. Melucci required a goalline clearance to deny Minelli the equaliser, but it came soon after. Narciso rushed out to clear from Masucci, but could do nothing on Catellani’s follow-up. Sassuolo almost registered their second consecutive victory, but Narciso kept out Fusani on two occasions, while Allegretti’s free kick was parried by Pomini at the other end.

Siena 2-1 Reggina
Siena completed a comeback to secure the points and their first victory under Antonio Conte. It was a blistering start with Troianiello’s effort parried and then Bonazzoli pouncing on a howler from goalkeeper Coppola. Reggina were begged back by Mastronunzio, who was fed through by Calaio, while there were chances for Rizzo, Carobbio, Mastronunzio and Cosenza. With 10 minutes to go, Larrondo nodded in a corner kick to set off the celebration.

Varese 0-0 Atalanta
The local derby ended in a stalemate. Varese got off to a bright start with Pettinari and Carrozza, the latter clipping the crossbar with his volley from close range. Atalanta also threatened through Ruopolo and kept their second consecutive clean sheet, but in the final minutes Cellini wasted a glorious opportunity to secure the full points.

Vicenza 4-1 Portogruaro
New boys Portogruaro were taught a lesson at the Stadio Menti. Within five minutes Baclet had smashed a left-foot strike under the bar, though Altinier piunced on Bastrini's error to equalise. In first half stoppages Baclet completed his brace from close range on Gavazzi's assist, then it was all one-way traffic with Abbruscato's header and an Alemao counter-attack 60 seconds after coming off the bench.
